Sucker Punch

I'm not a big fan of movies in videogame style. Except for Sucker punch. I discovered this movie when I was on a ten hour flight to Mexico and I loved it so much. It's so unrealistic (for obvious reasons), but at the same time so realistic. And I love the group of badass protagonists so much: hello Emily Browning, Jamie Chung, Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone and Abbie Cornish. At the time of the movie, these actresses were new in Hollywood, crazy how time flies by!

Bridesmaid casual

If they would ask me to describe my fashion style, I would say that I like to dress like a preppy bohemian rockstar. This description seems like a complete contradiction (actually it doesn’t seem, it totally is), but what can I say… I just like to clash styles because it just gives that something special and original to your daily outfit. Anyhow...  This weekend I rewatched the movie 27 dresses. Yes, the one with Katherine Heigl wearing ugly bridesmaid dresses. Fortunately, the days of hideous frocks are over and tons of fashionable dresses are be found! On Weddington Way for example, where you can select your dress based on color, length and style. How cool is that?! These dresses are so pretty that you'll want to wear them again and again and again. And why not?
Life doesn’t give us sufficient occasions to dress glamorously (I don’t mean glam, but all the way Hollywood glamorous). Therefore I started to dress glamorous in normal situations, scaling it down enough to be acceptable in daily life. And let me tell you, I’m the queen of dressing down a fancy outfit.

My favorite look to go to a wedding, and for those hot summer days spent strolling in the city, is hands down a maxi dress. I just love the mysterious vibe of the maxi and let’s be honest… A maxi dress always looks chiquer than a mini dress. So choosing a dress was a no brainer for me:

When you want to dress down, hair and accessoires are key.
Last week I had to attend a very casual wedding and I didn't want to put the bride in the shade (just kidding... actually I'm not ;) ...) and I found the perfect hair inspiration to dress my outfit down:

You can't go more boho than this
 Next up? Make up!
I would totally opt for dark nails to break with the romantic vibe of the dress.

My favorite? Rouge Noir from Chanel:
And killer lips to match... My favorite is definitely Mac, hands down the best lipstick out there. This particular shade is Dark Side:
Since we're going with bold lips here, I would recommend a soft, natural look for the eyes.
Another crucial part of the outfit are the accessories ofcourse. To rough this outfit up, I would go for a killer statement necklace and earrings, like these ones that I found on The Outnet... I'm so obsessed with Elizabeth Cole these days: really stand out pieces for a reasonable price:
But what about the shoes? If you would wear this dress to a wedding, I would scream: put some killer high heels on! But today it's about dressing down, so flat sandals are a must, like these Michael Kors ones:
Ok, we're almost there... When you attend a wedding, you see clutches everywhere. But you gotta admit... Clutches in real life simply don't work, because where do you leave your keys, cellphone, wallet, chewing gums, etc... ? Insert the bags of all (casual) bags: Mulberry's Alexa bag:
Last but not least, the ultimate piece that can't be missing in your wardrobe and one of my personal favorites when dressing down: the denim shirt. Perfect for those long summer nights

Inhale

Just the fact that this movie takes place in Mexico, was already a go for me. Diane Kruger was just a pleasant bonus for me! I didn't hear about this movie beforehand, but it's definitely one to watch. Hopefully this movie will sensibilize people all over the world about a very serious and horrible problem of third world countries: organ trafficking. The best part of the movie? No, not Mexico. But the powerful message: you always have a choice and every life has the same value.

Into the wild

Some movies are so magical and at the same time realistic, that you'll remember them forever. Into the wild is that kind of movie. So pure, so simple, yet so touching. And the greatest thing of all, is that this movie is based on a true story. I admit, I would never be this brave to go on that kind of adventure...

Frida Kahlo

To anybody who knows me, my passion for everything Mexican doesn't come as a surprise. Since I lived there a couple of years ago, I'm obsessed with the colorful Mexican culture. And Frida Kahlo has become a personal muse of mine. I've always wanted some professional photos taken of me, but I didn't wanted it to be some lame studio photos. When I secretly told my friend Ana that I wanted a Frida inspired shoot in my favorite city Bruges, she was as enthusiastic as I and we got to work! I got the honor to work with not only one, but two incredibly gifted photographers. I'm also happy that I can call these beautiful Mexicans my dear friends. They made me feel like a Mexican princess and I'm going to cherish these photos forever and ever. Thank you Ana and Tati ♥ And ofcourse a big shoutout to Karla for the breathtaking make up. When can we do another shoot? :)

Pocahontas

I don't know why, but it seems that I'm the only one of my generation who thinks that Pocahontas is one of the best Disney movies of all time. Whenever we talk about Disney and I tell that Pocahontas is my favorite (together with The Lion King), they tell me that they didn't like it all. What can I say, I was already intrigued by indigenous culture from an early age: living in harmony with the nature (and animals) has always be one of my priorities, I try to respect, care and value Mother Nature at all times. This and the fact that my great grandfather was an indian from North America, made Pocahontas my idol when I was little.

P.S. I still get goosebumps when I listen to Colors of the Wind... ♥

Frozen

Let it go, let it goooooo! Disney did it again! Is it normal that I still sing alone and cry while watching Disney movies? Bueno, I honestly don't care, because I'm in love with Frozen! Disney does moral lessons best! A guy that wants to marry you after knowing you only 3 hours? What a creep! And what about true love? You always have to put family first!

Frozen is just a must see for everybody between 0-150 years old, seriously! And I don't know about you guys, but I'm in love with Olaf ♥
